Hello,

I am Shakunthala Vinay, Founder of VastrAbharaN.

Based in Bangalore, I am a post-graduate in Biotechnology, a University Topper in Chemistry, and someone who has always believed that work should come with FREEDOM — freedom of time, choice, and life on one’s own terms. While I built my early career working with MNCs, I consciously stepped away from corporate life to focus on my daughter and family, choosing presence over paychecks.

That pause became a powerful turning point.

During my career break, I entered the world of ethnic wear as a reseller of unstitched suit sets and sarees, working closely with some of the biggest manufacturers and wholesalers across India. With a strong eye for quality and colour, I built and led a network of over 80 resellers serving retail customers nationwide.

Yet, as a customer myself, I faced the same frustration that countless Indian women silently accept — tailor stress.

Despite trying multiple tailors and managing endless follow-ups, the fit was rarely satisfying. Precious time meant for family, celebrations, and self-care was spent chasing tailoring deadlines.

On my 38th birthday, a last-minute ready-to-wear suit set turned out to be more than just a solution — it was a revelation. The fit wasn’t “perfect,” but it was comfortable, presentable, and completely stress-free. That moment sparked a question that would soon become a brand:

Why can’t Indian women have premium-quality, ready-to-wear suit sets at affordable prices — without tailor stress?

And that’s how VastrAbharaN was born.

Founded on 10th May 2024, VastrAbharaN began as a home-run venture, built on deep research, hands-on vendor visits across India’s textile hubs, and meticulous curation. Every piece is handpicked — not because it is trending, but because it makes a woman look and feel beautiful.

With the unwavering support of my family, I am building VastrAbharaN alongside another homegrown venture, Winter Greens — proving that passion, consistency, and vision matter more than perfect timing.
